What is a math compass? Definition and example
A "math compass" or compass is a geometric tool used to draw circles and parts of circles called arcs. The figure below shows a compass.
One end of the compass has a small pencil kept in place with a clamp.
The other end has a sharp point that will rest on a surface to keep the compass steady as you rotate the compass to draw circles or circular arcs.
