What is a Furlong? Definition and Examples


A furlong is a unit of length that is equal to 660 feet. Notice that the length of a football field is 360 feet and the length of the football field without the touchdown area is 300 feet.

Therefore, 660 feet or 1 furlong is equal to the length of a football field + the length of the football field without the touchdown area.
